This is my list of miscellaneous computer bits and bobs that I have. Things
that don't quite need their own page.
Tawil-at-umr: Gateway to Madness
Duties: Router
Description:
This is my Netgear router. Nothing much there, just your basic router with
wireless (802.11g). I should replace this with a more geeky/robust router/
firewall, but I'm more than mildly lazy, and it works. If it's not broke,
etc, etc.
Hardware Stats:
- Netgear WGR614v6 router
Kassogtha: Switch of Doom
Duties: 24 port switch
Description:
This is the core switch of my network. Bought it off work for a song.
24 ports is a bit of overkill, but it means I have plenty of room to
upgrade. I also will be using it for network practice, since it can be
used to setup vlans. Nifty piece of gear.
Hardware Stats:
- Cisco 2900XL running IOS 12.0
Cephalopod: Mp3s and tentacles
Duties: Mp3 Player
Description:
My iPod Nano. This is my near constant companion, between listening to
music, and listening to audio books, it keeps me sane at home, on the road
and at work. My friends clubbed together and bought it for me for my 36th
bday. I loves my Cephalopod.

- Apple iPod Nano: 16 gig hard drive
Alhazred: The Mad Printer
Duties: Printer
Description:
This is the first printer I've owned since I had a dot matrix printer with
my Apple IIC during Jr high though college. It's your basic inkjet printer,
does everything I need out of a printer so far. Named after the Mad Arab,
Abdul Alhazred, it's currently not working due to ink problems, and the fact
that Ubuntu and Lexmark do not play well together.
Hardware Stats:
- Lexmark Z645 inkjet printer.
Byahkee: Video from the Stars
Duties: Video player
Description:
A new toy, this is an interface that allows me to play video on my TV that I
have stored on Cthulhu or
Shub-Internet. Nifty little
Linux based gizmo. So far I have yet to find a format it doesn't play well,
and it also plays nicely with my majorly out of date TV.
